Who is responsible for the repair of a monument?

When a monument is placed on a grave, it remains the property of the owner of the Right of Burial.

The owner of the Right of Burial approves the monument’s installation, any future changes and is responsible for maintaining the monument.  All installations and/or repairs must only be undertaken with approval from the cemetery or crematorium.

However, if a monument becomes unsafe, the cemetery can remove it to ensure safety for visitors and cemetery workers.
