How can I link another file stored on the website into my article?

Posted by: Administrator

Electronic files stored on the website can be linked into any article you are writing. The files can be any media file (images, video, music etc) or a document file (.doc. pdf etc).

For information on uploading files other than those you want to attach to your article, click here.

TO LINK A FILE THAT IS ON THE SERVER:

  • Select the text in your article that the reader will see and click to view the linked file.
  • Click the link icon on the editor's toolbar. HINT: It looks like a chain link.
  • Click "BROWSE SERVER" button in the FCK  editor. Other editors will have a similar button to browse.
  • A dialog will open, showing the available files and folders.
  • Find  the file to link, select it and confirm the action.
  • In the link dialog, set the TARGET to "NEW WINDOW" or "_blank", if you want the link to open in a new window when the user clicks it.

Save your article.
