Your attention is drawn to the next round of Safe Grave Techniques announced for 27th To 29th Oct 2009 (Training) and 26th to 27th Nov 2009 ( Assessment).
The program is designed to improve the safety and technical skills of gravediggers and those who work in related roles. The training provided will help protect customers and staff; reduce the risk of WorkCover fines and further develop the skills of staff. The five day program includes three days of tuition and practical activities and two days of formal assessment. The course covers the skills and knowledge needed to apply relevant OH&S legislation and codes of practice including safety, security and emergency procedures, manual handling procedures and safe equipment operation to the processes and techniques used whilst performing tasks involved in grave digging. See Northern Sydney TAFE Institute website for more details. We'll also publish more information here as it comes to hand.

The Internet contains literally thousands of news resources, harvesters and blogs relating to cemeteries, crematoria and funeral industries. The following are a just a few of them:
| Public Cemeteries dot Net | Google News | Google Blogs |
| Google News (Australian Focus) | Funeral Wire dot Com | Google Green Funerals |
The Index is intended to inform the public about members' cemeteries and operational standards. For example, funeral directors will see the index as useful resource, especially when they need to make bookings and work in "out of town" cemeteries. Members can get more information here. Non-members are also invited to participate by using this online form.
