Can I submit a picture or banner to display like the ones at the top of this page?

Answer

Yes you can!

The scrolling images at the top of the website page are at first sight only eye-candy. However, they could also display a message and link back to other web sites or web pages. In the jargon they are called 'banners', as in advertising banners.

To have your custom banner displayed, subject to the web site committee's approval, I need

  • A suitable digital image, preferably jpg or png format. Animated GIF  would be OK too. The image needs to be 600px wide and 200px high. If the image is larger, try and size in multiples of 600 X 200, ie 1200 X 400, 900 X 300.
  • A URL to link the image to when someone clicks on it. Usually this would be your website or a specific page on your website
  • A description or short narrative about the image or banner.
  • Email the above to the Secretary or the Webmaster.
