News - Website

After experimenting with a few design layouts on the website, I think I have pretty much got it where I like it. You may feel different;

  • The top right of the page features a random NEWSFLASH. Articles that appear here should be kept short and should probably link back to a main article. NEWSFLASH articles are assigned to the NEWS section and the NEWSFLASH category.
  • TABBED display - the tabbed display can be used to selective display almost any message or information we want to convey. They also provide quick links to high priority news, information and website features. I've reserved the 1st tab for "Latest News"
  • The main home page list article headers from all content. Articles are scrolled/ rotated automatically every few seconds. To read an article, click the link...
  • Three columns at the page footer provided quick links to a range of information. Links to the latest comments left by members are also listed there.
  • The Website Committee remains keen to push the "Facilities Index" project along. I'm going to try and make it as easy as I can for members & non-members to submit the required information. Click here for more information...

All in all, I'm reasonably satisfied that the design is tidy & structured while providing lots of current & topical information at a glance.

NB: Content displayed will vary depending on whether you are logged in.

Cheers

Pierre

The Index is intended to inform the public about members' cemeteries and operational standards. For example, funeral directors will see the index as useful resource, especially when they need to make bookings and work in "out of town" cemeteries. Members can get more information here. Non-members are also invited to participate by using this online form.
