Plant a tree to offset carbon from cremation

CARBON offsetting of cremations could become the next big green thing in Cairns with ashes used to grow a memorial tree and dispose of the carbon.

The concept developed by Green Funerals at Kewarra Beach includes five other trees being planted on Cairns Regional Council land, meaning a person's death also can help reduce global warming.
