According to Hobart's "The Mercury", thieves are hitting graves across Hobart, stealing treasured ornaments and statues on children's graves. The thefts are devastating the families involved. Millingtons Southern Cemeteries general manager Scott Cranfield said he had been shocked last week to hear of angel statues being taken from three sites at Cornelian Bay Cemetery. He said there had also been thefts at Kingston and East Risdon cemeteries -- many from the graves of children.
