ACCC regarding Invocare's acqusition of Bledisloe

Posted by: Hamish Horne

handshakepuzzle2The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has decided to issue a Statement of Issues in respect of the proposed acquisition of Bledisloe Group Holdings Pty Ltd by InvoCare Limited.

Please find a copy attached.

(ED: please note this is a copy of an email received by Hamish and forwarded to the CCA secretary with a request that it be published on this website for the benefit of members.)

A Statement of Issues published by the ACCC is not the ACCC’s final decision on any matter. A Statement of Issues provides the ACCC’s preliminary views and draws attention to particular issues raising varying degrees of potential competition concerns, as well as identifying the lines of further inquiry that the ACCC wishes to undertake. The Statement of Issues invites interested parties to consider the primary issues identified by the ACCC and invites submissions regarding those issues as well as any other issues that may be relevant to the ACCC’s consideration of this matter.

The ACCC is now inviting further submissions from market participants on the proposed acquisition by close of business 4 February 2011.

Further information regarding the ACCC's review, including our indicative timeline, may be found at the ACCC website at:  http://www.accc.gov.au/mergersregister

If you have any queries regarding the Statement of Issues or would like to discuss the matter by phone please contact me on (02) 9230 9170 or Nick Cooke on (02) 9230 3858.
