Rarity roundly reviving

An inspirational story reported  in the Progress Leader, probably somewhere in Victoria; a rare rotunda in Kew will be restored to its former glory under an ambitious community plan.

Friends of Boroondara (Kew) Cemetery are aiming to raise $60,000 to restore the 120-year-old rotunda, the last remaining of its type in the cemetery.

Spokesperson Tanya Warms said Bendigo Bank backed the fundraising appeal.

“We’re also appealing to residents and businesses of Kew to support us, particularly those who have descendants and business founders with memorials in the cemetery,” she said.

The fundraising initiative will be launched on Tuesday, May 3.
