WA: Pair accused of stealing from cemetery

News.com.au reports men have been accused of stealing gravestone plaques and vases from a Perth cemetery to fund their drug habits.

Police charged the 24-year-old man and 48-year-old man this morning after their Mosman Park home was searched.

The men were arrested in Rockingham yesterday while allegedly trying to break into a number of vehicles on Goddard St.

Police searched their vehicle and allegedly uncovered items solen from the Fremantle Cemetery other places.

Police alleged about 200 plaques and vases were stolen from the depot yard at the cemetery, where they were to be recycled, between  August 27 and 29.
