WA: East Perth Cemetery to be restored

By Lauren Peden, Guardian Express reports the overgrown East Perth cemetery grounds will be restored ahead of plans to build an information centre for visitors.

 Cemetery WA president of the National Trust of Australia Max Kay said specialists attended the historic site last week to assess any risks the works may pose.

Mr Kay said a plan was being developed for the clean-up, which is planned to begin in between four to six weeks.

He said the proposed centre, which still needs to attract funding, would allow the cemetery to be an educational resource for school students.
