March 09 Website Update

Posted by: Administrator

The CCANSW website is now up and running on http://ccansw.org.au

As far as I can tell, everything seemed OK after the move, but let me know if you come across broken links etc.

BLOGS

I have also re-organised the BLOG section so it is easier to post to. Rather than each blogger needing their own category I have made the access general. If you have something to say and want to blog it:

  • Log in to the website
  • Click the "Submit Article" link on your User Menu
  • Write your blog article.
  • Assign "Blog" for the Section
  • Select a suitable CATEGORY. If none are suitable, use GENERAL and let me know what you think the category should be.
  • Set the PERMISSION, i.e should everyone (Public) see your blog or should it be restricted to "Registered" users.
  • Save the article

MEMBERS LIST SEARCH

The Membership list can now be searched on both the Members (Company) name and the delegate's name. You only need to enter a significant part of the search criteria. For example, Canberra would find Canberra Cemeteries Trust. Hamish would find Hamish Horne.

TEMPLATES

Personally I am not satisfied with the website template which defines and controls the look of the pages, menus etc.. So I have started exploring some new ones. If you have site manager or admin rights you can select and try them from the "Select Template" box on the left menu strip.

IMPORTANT: if exploring the other templates, remember the default one is js_optimus - you'd be best to put it back before logging out.

Cheers

Pierre

Information

The Index is intended to inform the public about members' cemeteries and operational standards. For example, funeral directors will see the index as useful resource, especially when they need to make bookings and work in "out of town" cemeteries. Members can get more information here. Non-members are also invited to participate by using this online form.
