Why should I memorialise my departed relative?

Memorials pay respect to the departed but are just as much for the living.  They contribute positively to the grieving process, provide a sense of place and leave a tangible record of a life lived for the family and future generations to read and rediscover their ancestors.  The history of past lives are best recorded on the headstones and memorials.
